Haversack, M1928, Reproduction;. Standard pack issued to US troops in WWII, except paratroopers. The Marines also used them until it was replaced by their own "782" pack system in the middle of the conflict. The M1928 Haversacks are an exclusive ATF product of outstanding quality. It compares perfectly to originals- it bears no relation to the cheap Chinese repros made with paper thin canvas and hardware that could have been made from beer cans. For those that are familiar with the manufacturing variations of Haversacks, we copied a mint, unissued, Boyt 1942 sample. The 100% cotton #8 canvas is the correct weight, the color is a very authentic olive tan, and the webbing is shuttle loomed. Only top quality mil-spec hardware is used- the snap hooks, slides and grommets are the same weight and thickness as originals. This is a relatively complex piece of fieldgear to manufacture, with over 50 pieces and dozens of ways to make a mistake and ruin the pack. Although imported, ATF does final assembly in their shop to be certain that everything is where it is supposed to be- namely the grommets used to attach the bayonet and shovel.Includes the mess tin pouch and pack tail (aka diaper.) NotesSize: The straps on these packs are the same length as originals. Thus, if you are over 6' (1,80m) in height, or if you're a super size person, these may not be long enough.ATF stamping may vary
