Reproduction of the standard M1 Carbine Carrying Case issued in 1943-44. As usual, ATF patterned these directly from an original WWII example and they are duplicated down to the last detail. The body is made using 100% cotton #8 duck canvas, custom dyed the correct US Quartermaster spec. number 3 shade olive drab (often called "khaki" by enthusiasts). They made one small improvement over the originals by serging the inside seams to reduce the raveling of the raw edges. The case is secured with a genuine Talon brand heavy duty #10 zipper, that is double stitched for added strength. Each end of the zipper run is secured with die cut, 6-8 oz russet brown leather tabs from Hermann Oak. Finally, the carrying strap is made from shuttle loomed 1" Type IIIA webbing, adjusted with a period riveted slide. (We acquired 5 crates of them from the old Jeffersonville Quartermaster Depot (JQMD) about 20 years ago.)Maker marked "Kirkman Mfg 1943". Made by us in Columbia Ky. Approx. 38" (96,5cm) x 8" (20,3) at the widest point. Notes:
